Family Planning: Options for Permanent Birth Control
Program Instructions: Thank you for your interest in family planning and options for permanent birth control. It is the intent of this course to offer information related to education, counseling and options available to patients.
At the conclusion of this program, the participant will be able to:
- Identify appropriate candidates for permanent birth control
- Describe 3 available sterilization techniques
- Identify knowledge deficit related to sterilization decision: common misconceptions, psychosocial aspects of decision making, decision regret
- Identify strategies to provide effective health education regarding sterilization
Please read the downloadable file. When finished, please review the ten questions on pages 11 – 12, then complete the answer sheet on page 13. Be sure to provide all required information on the answer sheet. This information is essential to provide continuing education (CE) certificates. Once you receive your certificate, it is your responsibility to maintain a copy for your records.
